Configuring: Text File

Select the dataset to export, and configure the file name, file location, delimiter and timestamp type to use. Start by highlighting the dataset to export.

Worked example: Text file

Steps to configure

  1. File configuration: Define the location for saving the file, choose the file delimiter and define the type of the timestamps to be exported.

  2. Execute: The dataset will be exported to a text file.

Step 1: File configure

Filename:
  • Name the file, and define the location for saving the file.

  • Minimum configuration: A location to where the file must be saved must be entered.

Delimiter
  • The delimiter is the variable that will be used to separate the values in the exported file.

    • Tab will separate the values with a tab space

    • Semicolon will separate the values using “;”

    • Comma will separate the values using ”,”

    • Space will separate the values using a single space

    • Other - you can specify the variable to be used. This can be any variable (no limitation).

  • Default: Comma delimiter is selected.

  • Minimum configuration: A delimiter type must be entered.

Timestamps
  • Select the radio button that will define the type of all of the exported timestamp fields.

    • Options include exporting to a custom time zone. Select the time zone from the drop down list.

    • The timestamps being exported will be saved as being from the selected time zone.

  • Default: Local time is selected.

  • Minimum configuration: One timestamp type must be selected.

Step 2: Execute

The file will be saved as a text file using your chosen delimiter and timestamp type.
